Both of the essential oils used are known as base notes in the Aromatherapy world, base notes are renowned for being rich, grounding & relaxing and are typically the most expensive of essential oils. Presented in a Rose Gold tin. Frankincense is known as the “King of Essential Oils” and is used to promote feelings of relaxation, satisfaction & peace, its aroma can be described as woody, earthy, spicy with a fruity nuance. Various studies carried out on Boswellia Serrata (Frankincense) claim that this oil has many benefits such as a natural anti-inflammory, immune-stimulating, anti-microbial, anti-depressant and also has shown to have anti-cancer properties in studies. Patchouli oil is used in Aromatherapy to help relieve feelings of stress or anxiety. Studies carried out found that Patchouli can stimulate the production of serotonin and dopamine, the “feel good” hormones which help to eliminate feelings of stress. Further studies have shown that A-Patchoulene one of the active constituents in this oil can help improve sleep quality and calm down a hyperactive nervous system by inhaling the aroma. Patchouli oil has a wonderful aroma which can be described as a combination of musk, earthiness that is also mildly sweet and minty. This candle was made with 1% blend of this oil so as not to overpower the scent, a little goes a long way with Patchouli and it blends beautifully with Frankincense.
