About Isabella Josie – Bespoke Millinery

Hello, I’m Isabella Josie, a West Sussex based milliner who loves creating hats, headpieces and headbands.

Creativity, self expression and that ‘feel good’ factor are at the heart of each Isabella Josie creation.

I have had the pleasure of creating handcrafted luxury hats and headpieces for local and international clients for the horse racing events as well as bespoke hats and fascinators for wedding guests and brides. Living in West Sussex, Goodwood Revival also provides an ideal opportunity to create elegant hats and headpieces inspired by the1940s and 50’s, which are eras I totally adore.

To provide clients with the ‘feel-good’ fact factor throughout the year, I have created a range of handcrafted headbands and hair accessories. Many of the styles, including the ‘Isabella Josie’ signature headwrap, have been designed to be worn in multiple ways to enable the wearer to style the accessory in a manner that reflects their personality and outfit. Our headbands are worn by several celebrities.

I also love collaborating with local artists to produce original and exclusive fabrics, To be able to take a piece of art and bring it to life in a product that can proudly worn is a real honour.

Royal Blue Peek-a-Boo Brim Statement Hat with Silk Abaca Yellow Flower

his stunning royal blue hat has a peek-a-boo mesh brim and trimmed with a large handcrafted silk abaca flower, millinery veiling and curled yellow quills. The brim is mounted onto a blue sinamay straw base which is secured to the head with blonde millinery elastic. This statement hat is ideal of ladies days at race events. The brim diameter is approx 43cm. The hat has been handcrafted by Isabella Josie in her West Sussex millinery studio.

Navy Blue Halo Headband with Teal Feather Flowers

Navy blue and teal hat-band / halo headband / power band. This crescent shaped designer headpiece is easy to wear, ‘on-trend’ and would look perfect at weddings and other events and celebrations. The headpieces designed to sits just behind the ears and is secured with a covered metal aliceband. To order this headpiece in a different colour (it would look amazing in ivory for a bride!) please request a bespoke order. Mustard bee multi-way band – ‘Blissful Buzz’

Mustard bee multi way handy band is a based on an original drawing called ‘Blissful Buzz’ by Hannah Mcilwarth. The fabric is exclusive to Isabella Josie. The multi way band is a ‘must have’ accessory has it can wear be worn in so many ways. A headband, running buff, face covering, snood, scrunchie and cap are just a few examples. It’s also eco-friendly too as it’s made from 100% recycled plastic waste.

Rainbow ric-rac and red white Star reversible headband

Reversible headband – this is a multi-wear hair accessory that can be worn in so many different ways. The fabric can be flipped around the central core making it reversible so or you can change your look depending on your outfit or mood. You can even go for a half-way twist to showcase both fabrics. The headband also comes with a double sided bow which you can knot around the band in various positions for a playful look. The possibilities are endless!
