About Marshall Bespoke
My name is Alan Marshall, my life in woodworking began in 1982 when I embarked on my carpentry and joinery apprenticeship. Attending Pontypool college in South Wales full time for the first six months. I soon realised that a career in woodworking was a good match for me.
I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop environment and the challenge of mastering hand tools.
A passion for quality hand tools has stayed with me ever since and I am now the proud owner of more vintage and modern woodworking tools than any man could ever need but as I regularly tell my wife, in the words of philosopher Thomas Carlyle “Man is a tool using animal. Without tools he is nothing, with tools he is all.”
So as my 38 year career in woodwork continues I am now focused on making quality, simple, useful and affordable items of furniture for today’s modern busy lifestyle, built with the same passion and youthful exuberance of a new apprentice but with 38 years knowledge and experience.
