About Mazzeh Spice

Mazzeh Spice kits give you the simplest ways to create and cook authentic, traditional Parsi curries, side dishes and snacks. Our flavours are different to those you find in Indian cookbooks because they are based on our family recipes which have roots in Persian ancestry.
Produced locally, these kits include all the dry spices and fried onions in one pouch and require the least possible effort to make beautiful, gently-spiced dishes. Simply add your own fresh ingredients to suit your taste (e.g. chicken, vegetables, meat).
They are all suitable for Vegan diets and we can also make them gluten free.
Each pack will produce a dish that serves four people and can be ordered mild or spicy.

Mum's Curry

This is a traditional curry recipe, not one you’ll find in an Indian restaurant. Mum's Curry is a rich, full-flavoured dish, packed with spices that are perfectly tempered by coconut. The final ingredient of peanut butter might sound unusual, but the subtle difference it makes to this curry is what makes it a firm favourite. It’s the traditional Parsi curry that mum would cook for us on a Saturday night. Perfect with either chicken pieces, kofta (spiced-up meatballs), prawns or vegetables and served on plain basmati rice.

Spiced Tomato Curry

This is a very light, tomato based curry with delicate spices and a hint of cinnamon. Just add 400g chicken and two medium sized potatoes for a traditional curry that will serve four people. If you prefer a vegetarian option, you can experiment with your favourite vegetables, such as courgettes, broccoli, mushrooms, peas, sweetcorn, carrots...the list goes on!

Murgh Makhani

Butter Chicken Curry (Murgh Makhani) is a Northern Indian curry. However, having cooked it a number of times for family and friends we've added a few elements of Parsi cooking and created our own version. This is a wonderfully smooth and creamy curry. Bright red tomatoes mixed with cream and yogurt give the curry a lovely warm colour, while the taste makes it a favourite amongst many.
