About Perran Yarns

Perran Yarns is a small artisan business based near Perranporth on the beautiful Cornish coastline, run by indie yarn dyer Steph Thornton. Steph handdyes luxury yarns in beautiful wearable colourways from her home dye studio, and sells them worldwide via her Etsy shop.
There are many luxury yarns to choose from, ranging from laceweight through to superchunky. Natural fibre yarn blends include silk, seacell (derived from seaweed!), merino, Bluefaced Leicester, linen, bamboo, cotton, tencel and many more.
The yarns are ideal for your special knitting, crochet, weaving or felting projects.
A growing range of knitting and crochet patterns are also available, along with kits including the pattern and yarn which can be purchased giftwrapped ready to give as a unique gift.
Collaborations with other UK-based designers have produced patterns and kits using Perran Yarns. A portion of each kit sale price goes to the pattern designer. Let me know if you’d like to collaborate with your designs!
Steph also handdyes a range of recycled sari and chiffon silk ribbons, sold in 10 metre packs suitable for a huge range of craft uses from cardmaking and textile jewellery through to bouquet and gift wrapping.

Recycled sari silk ribbon 10 metre pack handdyed in colourway Sandy Toes

10-metre (11 yards) length of recycled sari silk ribbon handdyed in the gorgeous Sandy Toes colourway of aqua blues and olive browns. Due to the handmade and handdyed nature of the ribbon yarn each pack will differ, and will contain raw edges, knots and seams, and varying widths of ribbon (approx 3mm to 30mm if ironed flat) along its length. Perfect for many crafts including collage, felting, junk journalling, embroidery, embellishing, weaving, tassle making, braiding, card making, jewellery making etc.
