Black Leather Crossbody Bag

The jacket we used to make this bag from proved to be a little bit of a challenge! When we first saw it we knew it would make a great bag - it had lots of zip pockets, and the leather was really lovely and soft. However, the jacket itself was tiny and didn't give us a lot of fabric to be able to use, so deciding on a design proved a little bit tricky! We decided to go with a crossbody style as we thought this design would be perfect to show off all of those pockets. And this bag has a LOT of pockets - 11 in total! We're pretty sure that's a BLoC handmade record! You'll find 4 on the outside (taken from the original jacket) and 7 inside - a zip pocket, and 2 elasticated pockets that have each been divided into 3 separate spaces. This bag is organised! The inside has been lined with a curtain fabric remnant in a cream/green/grey stripe design. Dimensions: W 35cm D 4cm H 24cm Strap length 74cm to 137cm (adjustable) Pattern used: Sandra by Ithinksewbags Please keep in mind that all our bags are made from second hand items. Whilst we only use items that are in a good condition, our bags are not made from brand new leathers and fabrics and therefore may have one or two quirks in places, which all add to the bag's character.

Mustard Suede Fringe Tote

We couldn't resist this suede fringe jacket when we first saw it - we knew we could give it a second life as a great looking bag. This jacket had a LOT of fringe, so we added a double row of it to the front of the bag. On the back, we managed to re-use both of the jacket's front pockets. The suede was lightweight, so we reinforced it to give it structure and make it nice and strong. The inside has been lined with fabric taken from a blue floral print top - we've kept the button detail from the top on the front lining, and on the back lining you'll find a zip pocket. We've used silver hardware for this one and we think it goes great with the mustard suede - we've attached the strap with rivets and used a magnetic snap for the closure. Dimensions: H 33cm W 36cm Strap length 42cm Pattern used: Francesca Fringe Tote by Sewchichandbags Please keep in mind that all our bags are made from second hand items. Whilst we only use items that are in a good condition, our bags are not made from brand new leathers and fabrics and therefore may have one or two quirks in places, which all add to the bag's character.

Embroidered Pink Leather Mini Bucket Bag

When we managed to get our hands on an embroidered pink leather jacket, we knew it would make a great looking bag. In fact, it made two – that’s our favourite kind of recycling project! How cute is this Mini Bucket Bag? We think the design is perfect for the embroidered pink leather. On the front of the bag we’ve managed to reuse one of the jacket’s pockets, and pretty much all of the exterior panels have been cut from the embroidered sections of the jacket. In traditional bucket bag style, it has a drawstring opening. For the lining we’ve used curtains in a gorgeous floral print. You’ll find a zip pocket inside too. Dimensions: H 19cm Diameter 15cm Strap length 55cm min 96cm max Pattern used: Bucket Bag by Merge Patterns Please keep in mind that all our bags are made from second hand items. Whilst we only use items that are in a good condition, our bags are not made from brand new leathers and fabrics and therefore may have one or two quirks in places, which all add to the bag's character.

Blue Leather Satchel Bag

A while ago we acquired a very sad looking blue leather coat. It didn’t have a lot going for it to be honest – no fancy features or pockets that we could reuse, pretty plain in style and to top it off it had been left in a bag in someone’s loft for years. But when we saw it we knew it could be turned into something great – the colour was good, and the leather had that lovely worn, veiny look to it – all it needed was a good clean and a bit of TLC here and there. So here it is in it’s second life! From dull looking coat to elegant satchel handbag. It has a flap top secured by a twist lock, and has both carry handles and a detachable and adjustable shoulder strap, so take your pick if you want to carry it or wear it. The inside has been lined with a recycled dress in a bright pink, white and blue design, and has both a zip pocket and slip pocket that’s been divided into two. We’ve used silver hardware on the bag throughout, which compliments the blue leather really nicely. Dimensions: H 28cm W 42 cm Strap length 65cm min 122cm max Pattern used: Margo by Sewchichandbags Please keep in mind that all our bags are made from second hand items. Whilst we only use items that are in a good condition, our bags are not made from brand new leathers and fabrics and therefore may have one or two quirks in places, which all add to the bag's character.
